Advertising on GigBuyerGuide

Short answer

Advertising on GigBuyerGuide is limited to Fiverr affiliate creative: static banners from Fiverr's creative kit, banner frames that Fiverr rotates by visitor country and the Fiverr Gig Ads widget on category guides. Every unit is labelled Advertisement, sits in a fixed slot in the page template and earns the site a commission only if a reader clicks through and makes a qualifying purchase. There is no ad network and no paid placement for sellers.

Key takeaways

  • Every ad unit on the site is a Fiverr affiliate creative: static banners, country-rotating banner frames and the Fiverr Gig Ads widget.
  • Each unit is labelled Advertisement and sits in a shaded well so it reads as separate from the guide.
  • The site runs no ad network, no programmatic display and no sponsored posts from sellers.
  • Clicking a banner passes through a /go/ redirect on this site and lands on Fiverr with an affiliate tracking parameter.
  • Ad placements are fixed by template and never change which gigs are shortlisted or how a guide is written.

What kinds of ads appear

The site carries three kinds of advertising unit, all supplied by Fiverr’s affiliate program.

Static banners. Images from Fiverr’s creative kit, served from this site. They appear in the desktop sidebar (a tall 160 by 600 unit), as a 300 by 100 strip inside the article after the first section, as a 280 by 320 unit at the end of an article and as a 320 by 50 bar at the bottom of the screen on phones. The mobile bar only appears after you have scrolled a fair way down the page and can be closed with the X; it stays closed for the rest of your visit.

Country-rotating banner frames. Small frames loaded from a Fiverr content delivery domain. Fiverr picks the creative according to the visitor’s country, so a reader in Germany may see a different banner from a reader in Canada. These appear in the sidebar on design and branding guides, after the shortlist table on category guides and at the top of the pages written for affiliates. Loading the frame sends the usual request data (IP address, browser type) to Fiverr’s domain; see the privacy policy.

The Gig Ads widget. A carousel of live Fiverr gigs for the category being read, embedded from Fiverr, usually in the sidebar of a category guide. Fiverr chooses which gigs appear in the widget. The widget is separate from the shortlist table on the same page: the shortlist is built by the site’s own rules from the public listings and stamped with a checked date, while the widget is Fiverr’s advertising. Where a category has no widget code yet, the slot shows a rotating banner instead.

How to recognise an ad

Every unit carries a small “Advertisement” label directly above it and sits in a shaded well that is visibly different from the article. Inline text links and buttons that lead to Fiverr carry a “Paid link” label instead. Links to other pages on this site and to non-Fiverr sites are plain editorial links with no label and earn nothing.

Where ads sit on a page

Ad slots are fixed by the page template, not chosen page by page:

SlotWhereWhich pages

Gig Ads widgetBelow the sidebar unitCategory guides only
In-article stripAfter the first section of the articleEvery guide
After the shortlistBelow the shortlist tableCategory guides only
End of articleAfter the author boxEvery guide

Wide top bannerAbove the articlePages for affiliates only

The trust pages you are reading now (about, methodology, policies, contact) carry no ad units at all.

What happens when you click

A banner or widget click passes through a short redirect on this site, at /go/, and then lands on Fiverr with a tracking parameter that identifies GigBuyerGuide as the referrer and records which page you came from. If you go on to make a qualifying purchase, Fiverr pays the site a commission from its own share. You pay the listed price plus Fiverr’s normal buyer fee, nothing more. The full picture of what is paid and what it means for the content is on the disclosure page.

Redirect links are marked so search engines treat them as paid, and the /go/ path is excluded from indexing.

Is there a pop-up?

One, at most once per visit. On guide pages a small box appears only when you move to leave the page (on a phone, when you scroll back up quickly after reading half the page). It points to the matching Fiverr category, Fiverr Pro or Logo Maker, is labelled as a paid link and closes with the X, the Esc key or a click outside it. It never appears on this page or the other trust pages.

What the site does not run

No third-party ad network, no programmatic display, no timed or entry pop-ups, no interstitials, no native advertising disguised as articles and no sponsored posts from sellers, agencies or software companies. Sellers cannot pay to appear in a shortlist, a widget or anywhere else; see the editorial policy. If the advertising model ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Reporting a problem with an ad

If a banner is broken, misleading or lands somewhere it should not, email hello@gigbuyerguide.com with the page URL and a description. Creative is supplied by Fiverr, so problems with the content of a banner are passed on to the affiliate program.
