Privacy policy

Short answer

GigBuyerGuide collects as little as a working website can. Analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) load only after you accept the consent banner, with consent defaulting to denied. Affiliate links pass a tracking parameter to Fiverr when clicked. The site has no accounts, newsletter or comments. What the site collects by default

When you load a page, the hosting provider (Netlify) receives your IP address, browser type and the page requested, as every web server does. Netlify keeps short-lived server logs for security and operations. The site itself sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts until you make a choice in the consent banner.

The consent banner stores your choice (“granted” or “denied”) in your browser’s local storage under a single key so it does not ask again. The mobile advertisement bar stores a “dismissed” flag in session storage when you close it. Neither value identifies you and neither leaves your browser.

If you accept analytics, two tools load:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) records page views, scroll depth, outbound clicks and the affiliate_click event (which link, on which page, in which placement). IP anonymisation is enabled. Google’s processing is described in Google’s privacy policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so the publisher can see where a page is confusing. Clarity masks text inputs by default; the site has no forms in any case.

Both tools use Google Consent Mode v2 signals. The default state for every visitor, regardless of location, is denied for analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation. Accepting grants analytics storage only. Ad storage and personalisation stay denied because the site runs no ad network. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Links marked “Paid link” and banners marked “Advertisement” lead to Fiverr through a short redirect on this site (/go/). The redirect adds parameters that identify this site as the referrer and record which page sent you. Fiverr and its affiliate tracking provider may then set cookies on Fiverr’s domain to attribute a purchase to this site. From the moment you land on fiverr.com, Fiverr’s privacy policy governs what is collected. This site never sees your Fiverr account, your order or your payment details; it receives aggregate commission reports that do not identify buyers.

Fiverr’s rotating banner units are iframes served from a Fiverr content delivery domain. Loading them sends the usual request data (IP address, browser) to that domain so it can pick a creative for your country.

Fonts

Pages load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address for the request. No cookies are set by that request.

What the site does not do

No user accounts. No newsletter. No comments. No contact form (email only). No sale or rental of data. No advertising networks. No cross-site tracking pixels beyond the consented analytics described above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, California and Quebec), you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. Because the site holds almost nothing, most requests will be answered with “nothing beyond your email to us”. To make a request, email hello@gigbuyerguide.com. Replies go out within 30 days.

To withdraw analytics consent, use “Cookie settings” in the footer and choose Decline, or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Children

The site is written for business buyers and is not directed at children under 16. It does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

This policy is revised when the tools or the law change. The “Updated” date at the top of the page is the date of the last revision.
