Fiverr vs Codeable in 2026: hiring a WordPress developer

Short verdict: Codeable is a good fit for complex, business-critical WordPress and WooCommerce work where a warranty and a curated developer matter more than price. Fiverr, especially Fiverr Pro Paid link, is the better value for defined WordPress jobs and for anything outside WordPress.

Codeable argues that bidding “results in a race to the bottom”, so it averages the estimates from the experts who scope your project. Fiverr’s answer to the same problem is visible packages and seller signals such as Level 2, Top Rated and the Pro badge.

How much does WordPress work cost on Fiverr vs Codeable?

Codeable’s pricing page lists experts at $80 to $120 an hour and a “17.5% FIXED” service fee. A 10-hour job at $100 an hour would come to $1,000 plus $175 in fees.

On Fiverr, across the 44 well-reviewed gigs on the first page of the WordPress development category on September 29, 2026, the median starting price was $100 and the middle half ran from $80 to $180. The 14 Pro gigs in that sample had a median start of $162.50. These are starting prices of the cheapest package, not project totals; a full theme build or WooCommerce setup usually sits in a Standard or Premium package or a custom offer.

Fiverr’s buyer fee on a $1,000 order is $55 (5.5%). Fiverr’s help pages currently show two versions of the small-order fee ($3.50 under $200 on the payments article, $3.00 under $100 on an older overview), which only matters below $200. See Fiverr fees.

What protection does each give you?

Codeable offers a 28-day bug-fixing warranty and says you get a partial or full refund if a developer does not deliver the agreed scope, though “Codeable fees are always non-refundable.” Payment is deposited in escrow before work starts, and larger projects can be split into milestones.

On Fiverr, an order auto-completes three days after delivery if you take no action, so test the work promptly. You can request revisions from the order page, cancel through the Resolution Center (the seller has 48 hours to respond) and receive refunds to Fiverr Balance by default. • The job is defined: a speed fix, a plugin install, a theme customization, a site migration.
• You also need non-WordPress work, such as a logo, copy or a Shopify store.
• Budget matters and you can check portfolios and reviews yourself.
• You want vetted developers without a 17.5% fee: use Fiverr Pro.
