How to hire a team on Fiverr: build a multi-freelancer project that works

Some projects need more than one skill set. A new website needs words, design and development. A product launch needs a video, ads and landing pages. On Fiverr, you can buy each piece from a specialist, often for less than one agency would charge. The catch is that you become the agency, at least until you decide to pay someone else to be.

This guide shows how to assemble a small Fiverr team, sequence the work and keep it from falling apart at the handoffs.

How do you hire a team on Fiverr?

You hire a team on Fiverr by placing separate orders with each specialist, in the order their work depends on each other, with one shared brief tying them together. There’s no “team order” on the Marketplace; each freelancer has their own gig, delivery date and review.

The steps:

1. Write one master brief for the whole project: goal, audience, brand, deadlines, what “done” looks like.
2. Map the dependencies. Who needs whose output before they can start?
3. Hire in that order, starting with whoever defines the work.
4. Decide who leads. Either you, a lead freelancer or Fiverr Pro’s project management service.
5. Build buffer between each handoff.
6. Review each delivery within 3 days, since orders auto-complete after that.

Who should you hire first?

Hire whoever defines the work first, then whoever builds it. Words and structure usually come before design, and design comes before development. Hiring the developer first and “adding copy later” is the most common reason a Fiverr website project stalls.

Who manages a Fiverr team?

You do, unless you assign the role. Freelancers on separate orders don’t coordinate with each other by default, and each one is only accountable for their own order.

You have three options:

If you lead, keep it simple: one shared document with the master brief and a status table, and every approved deliverable saved to a folder you control. Share files through each order so there’s a record on Fiverr.

How do you find the right people faster?

Filter each category by seller level and look for portfolios that show the other pieces too. A designer whose portfolio includes built sites (not just mockups) is easier to hand off to a developer. Level 2 means at least 20 orders and $2,000 earned on Fiverr; Top Rated means 40 orders, $10,000 and a manual review.

How do you keep handoffs from breaking?

Keep handoffs clean by defining the format of every deliverable before anyone starts. Most team failures happen at the seams: a designer delivers a PNG when the developer needed a Figma file, or copy arrives in a PDF the developer has to retype.

Put these in each brief:

• File formats. “Designs in Figma with shared components”; “Copy in a Google Doc, one heading per section”.
• Who receives it. Name the next person in the chain so the freelancer knows the audience.
• What the next person needs. Ask the developer, before hiring the designer, what they need to receive.
• Buffer. Add at least one working day between each delivery date and the next person’s start.

Third-party tools like a shared drive or a project board are fine once each order is placed. Fiverr allows them “only after an order has been placed,” so invite freelancers to shared tools after they’ve accepted the order, not before.

How do you set up the team on your side?

If several people at your company will order, brief or approve work, set up a Fiverr Pro team account. The free Fiverr plan is one person per account; Pro Essential adds a “team account with unlimited members.”

Pro accounts have roles. The Admin manages members and finances, Billing Managers handle billing and invoices and Members place orders, collaborate on projects and save freelancers.
