Website copy is the part of a site buyers most often leave until last, then rush. The design is ready, the developer needs text and someone pastes in a paragraph from the old brochure. A good copywriter fixes that, but only if you give them the raw material: who buys, why they buy and what they hesitate about.

How much does a website copywriter cost on Fiverr?

Across the 39 well-reviewed gigs (4.7 stars or better, 20+ reviews) on the first page of Fiverr’s website content category on September 29, 2026, the median starting price was $100 and the middle half ran from $15 to $150. The range ran from $10 to $900. These are starting prices of each gig’s cheapest package, not the cost of a whole site.

Fiverr Pro gigs in sample16 of 39 (Pro median start $125)

That wide middle band hides two pricing models. Gigs starting around $15 are usually priced per block of words, often 100 to 300. Gigs starting at $100 to $150 usually sell one full page, most often a homepage, with a short questionnaire and a revision. Convert everything to “cost for the pages I need” before comparing.

TierTypical priceWhat it usually includes
Basic$50 to $1501 page (usually homepage) up to about 500 words, 1 revision
Standard$150 to $4003 pages, headline options, meta titles and descriptions, 2 revisions
Premium$400 to $8005+ pages, customer research call or questionnaire, SEO keyword placement, calls to action per page, 3 revisions

What pushes price up is research. A writer who interviews you, reads your reviews and studies two competitors will charge more than one who rewrites your notes. On a $400 order Fiverr adds a 5.5% service fee, so you pay $422 before tax; small orders under $200 also carry a $3.50 fee. The fees guide has the full table.

Marketplace or Fiverr Pro for website copy?

Website copywriting is one of the few categories where Fiverr Pro barely costs more at the entry point. Pro gigs made up 16 of the 39 in our sample, and their median starting price of $125 was only $25 above the overall median. That makes Pro a sensible default for a homepage or a sales page that has to carry paid traffic.

Pro freelancers are evaluated by Fiverr’s experts before acceptance, and eligible Pro orders come with a money-back satisfaction guarantee you can claim within 14 days of completion. For a contact page or a simple about page, a Level 2 or Top Rated marketplace writer is plenty; 54% of the sampled gigs were Top Rated.

How do you read a website copywriting gig before ordering?

Check these before you read a single sample.

  • Unit of pricing. Per page, per word block or per project. A “page” should have a word cap; ask if it is missing.
  • Research step. Does the package include a questionnaire, a call or competitor review? No research usually means rewritten notes.
  • What is delivered. Plain text in Google Docs, or copy laid out by section (hero, benefits, proof, FAQ, call to action). Sectioned copy saves your designer hours.
  • SEO extras. Meta titles, meta descriptions and keyword placement are often extras. Keyword research is usually separate; see the SEO services guide.
  • Revisions. Two rounds is normal. Revisions cover tone and accuracy, not a new direction after you change the offer.
  • Samples in your market. B2B software copy and bakery copy are different jobs. Ask for a live page they wrote in a similar business.

What should you put in a website copy brief?

Paste this into the requirements form. The better your answers, the less the writer has to guess.

  • Business in one sentence, plus the one offer the site should sell hardest
  • Ideal customer: who they are, what they are trying to fix, what they tried before
  • Top three objections you hear on sales calls, and how you answer them
  • Proof you can use: review quotes, numbers, client logos, awards
  • Pages needed and the sections on each (link your wireframe or current site)
  • Primary call to action per page (book a call, get a quote, buy)
  • Voice: three words, plus a brand whose website tone you like
  • Target keyword per page, if you have them
  • Words or claims to avoid for legal or brand reasons
  • “No AI-generated copy” if that matters to you

The brief writing guide has more on structuring requirements.

What are the red flags on website copywriting gigs?

  • Samples that are all blog posts. Website copy is short, structured and persuasive; blog writing is a different skill.
  • “Unlimited pages” for a flat fee. You will get filler.
  • No questions before quoting a homepage.
  • Guarantees of rankings or conversion rates. Nobody can promise either from words alone.
  • Delivered copy that reads like generic AI output. Fiverr says generic, unmodified AI output does not meet its quality standards, which gives you grounds to request a revision.
  • Requests to move to email before ordering. Fiverr only permits third-party tools after an order is placed.

Where do you find a good website copywriter on Fiverr?

The shortlist on this page lists well-reviewed website copy gigs from the same first-page check, with starting price and delivery time stamped on the date we read them. Start with the homepage from your top pick. If it sounds like your best salesperson on a good day, order the remaining pages from the same writer so the voice stays consistent. Frequently asked questions

How many pages of copy does a small-business website need?
Most start with five: home, about, one services or product page, a contact page and one landing page for the main offer. The homepage and the main service page do most of the selling, so spend the budget there and keep contact and legal pages simple.
Will the copywriter handle SEO?
Many website copywriters will place a target keyword in headings and meta descriptions if you give it to them. Keyword research is usually a separate service. If search traffic matters, choose the keywords first or buy research as an extra.
Should I hire a copywriter before or after the designer?
Before, or at the same time. Designers work better with real headlines and section lengths, and copy written to fit an existing layout often gets cut to fit boxes. At minimum, agree the page sections with both before either starts.
Can I ask for no AI-written copy?
Yes. Fiverr's AI guidelines expect clients to state clearly when they want no AI, and they say generic, unmodified AI output does not meet Fiverr's quality standards. Put the requirement in your brief and in the order requirements.
