Blog writing has the lowest entry price and the widest quality spread of any writing service on Fiverr. How much does a blog writer cost on Fiverr?

Across the 40 well-reviewed gigs (4.7 stars or better, 20+ reviews) on the first page of Fiverr’s articles and blog posts category on September 29, 2026, the median starting price was $20 and the middle half ran from $10 to $68.75. The range ran from $5 to $250. These are starting prices of each gig’s cheapest package, not the cost of a finished long-form article.

A $20 starting package usually buys around 500 words, one keyword and one revision. The article that actually ranks is usually longer and needs an outline, internal links and a meta description, so it costs more.

TierTypical price per articleWhat it usually includes
Basic$20 to $60500-800 words, 1 keyword, Google Doc, 1 revision
Standard$60 to $1501,000-1,500 words, outline approval, H2/H3 structure, meta title and description, internal link suggestions
Premium$150 to $3002,000+ words, subject-matter expertise, original examples or quotes, image suggestions, WordPress upload

Run the per-word math. A $20 gig for 500 words is 4 cents a word; a $90 gig for 1,500 words with an outline is 6 cents. The second is often cheaper once you count your own editing time. Small orders also carry Fiverr’s $3.50 fee on top of 5.5%, so a $20 article costs $24.60 at checkout. The fees guide has more examples. Marketplace or Fiverr Pro for blog articles?

For most blogs, stay on the marketplace and test two or three writers with one article each. Only 6 of the 40 gigs in our sample were Pro, and Pro starting prices sat at a $100 median.

Fiverr Pro fits when the article carries your name in a regulated or technical field: finance, health, legal, B2B software. There you are paying for a writer who understands the subject and will not invent a statistic. If you run content at volume for clients, the content writing outsourcing guide covers building a bench of writers.

How do you read a blog writing gig before ordering?

Five checks separate writers from rewriters.

  • Word count per package and per dollar. Compare cost per 1,000 words across your shortlist.
  • Who does the research. “SEO optimized” means nothing on its own. Ask whether they check the search results for your keyword and build an outline from what ranks.
  • Outline step. On anything over 1,000 words, approving an outline first saves a full rewrite.
  • Samples in your niche. Ask for two published posts, not Google Docs, in a field close to yours.
  • AI policy. Only 35% of sampled gigs were Top Rated, lower than most categories, so ask how the writer uses AI tools and state your own rule in writing.

Also check the subscription option. 57% of the sampled gigs offered subscriptions, which suits a fixed four or eight articles a month. The recurring orders guide explains how they work.

How many articles should you order at once?

Order one article from each of two writers first, using the same brief and keyword. Judge them on how much you had to edit, not on how polished the first paragraph looks. Then move the winner to a batch of four to eight articles a month.

Batching helps on price and on process. Fiverr charges the $3.50 small-order fee on every order under $200, so eight $20 articles ordered separately carry $28 in fixed fees, against $3.50 on one $160 custom offer. A batch also lets the writer build a style sheet for your blog, so article eight needs fewer edits than article one.

What should you put in a blog article brief?

Paste this for every article. It takes ten minutes and saves a revision round.

  • Target keyword and two or three related phrases
  • Search intent: what the reader wants when they type that keyword
  • Working title and target length
  • Audience and their level (beginner, practitioner, expert)
  • Outline or the H2s you expect, or “please send an outline for approval”
  • Three competing articles to beat, with what they miss
  • Facts, data or examples only you can provide (customer stories, pricing, process)
  • Internal links to include and your call to action
  • Voice notes: first or second person, US or UK English, words to avoid
  • Sources rule: “link every statistic to its original source”
  • AI rule, for example “no AI-generated text”

What are the red flags on blog writing gigs?

  • “1,000 words in 24 hours for $5.” That price leaves no time for research.
  • Samples with statistics that have no source, or sources that do not say what the article claims.
  • Every sample opens with “In today’s fast-paced digital world”. That is template writing.
  • Guaranteed first-page rankings. Content alone cannot promise a ranking.
  • Plagiarism reports offered as proof of originality. A clean report does not tell you whether the text was generated.

If an article is clearly off-brief, reject the delivery and request a revision from the order page, quoting your brief. Our revisions guide explains how.

Where do you find a good blog writer on Fiverr?

The shortlist on this page lists well-reviewed blog and article gigs from the same first-page check, with starting prices and delivery times as read on the stamped date. Order one article each from two writers, using the same brief. Keep the one whose draft needed fewer of your edits, then send it through proofreading if the post matters.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a 1,000-word blog post cost on Fiverr?
The typical range for this category is $20 to $300 per article. A 1,000-word post from a generalist usually sits between $30 and $80, while a subject expert writing for a technical or regulated industry charges well above that. Price per word only matters once you have confirmed quality.
Will a Fiverr writer do keyword research?
Some include it, many do not. Starting packages usually expect you to supply the keyword. If you do not have one, buy keyword research as an extra or read our SEO services guide first, because an article aimed at the wrong query rarely ranks however well it is written.
How do I know an article was not written by AI?
You cannot be certain from the text alone. State 'no AI-generated text' clearly in the brief and check for specific examples and original structure. Then compare the delivery with the writer's portfolio. Fiverr's guidelines say generic, unmodified AI output does not meet its quality standards.
Should I order one article or a monthly package?
Order one article first. If it needs only light edits, move to a subscription or a multi-article custom offer so you lock in the writer and pay the small-order fee less often.
