Social media management looks like one service on Fiverr but is really three: making content, posting it on time and talking to the people who respond. Gigs bundle those differently, and the price only makes sense once you know which ones you are buying. The fastest way to compare is posts per month per platform, and who writes them.

How much does social media management cost on Fiverr?

Across the 37 well-reviewed gigs (4.7 stars or better, 20+ reviews) on the first page of Fiverr’s social media management category on September 29, 2026, the median starting price was $60 and the middle half ran from $30 to $167.50. Starting packages ranged from $30 to $395. These are prices of each gig’s cheapest package, not a month of full management.

The 7-day delivery tells you what a starting package usually is: one week of posts or a content calendar for one platform. What pushes the price up is more platforms, more posts, original graphics, short videos, captions written from scratch, stories, daily community management and a monthly report.

Here is how packages are usually structured. The outer range comes from our category-level estimate of $100 to $1,000 a month and is general guidance, not measured data.

TierTypical priceWhat it usually includes
Basic$100 to $250 a month1-2 platforms, around 3 posts a week from templates, captions and hashtags, scheduling
Standard$250 to $600 a month2-3 platforms, custom graphics, some reels or carousels, comment replies on weekdays, monthly report
Premium$600 to $1,000 a month3+ platforms, daily posting, stories, short videos, DMs and comments handled, strategy call, analytics

On a $60 order the Fiverr service fee is $6.80 (5.5% plus $3.50 under $200, per its payments article), for $66.80. Fiverr’s help pages do not state how the fee applies to subscriptions, so read the total at checkout. The fees guide has more examples.

Marketplace or Fiverr Pro for social media management?

The marketplace fits most small businesses. Only 5 of the 37 gigs in our sample carried the Fiverr Pro badge, and 35% came from Top Rated sellers, so the experienced supply is mostly outside Pro. Start with a one-month order and review the report before subscribing.

Fiverr Pro, with a $200 median start in our sample, makes sense if you are a regulated business, a brand with a large following or an agency that needs a reliable subcontractor. The outsourcing social media management guide covers the agency side. If that is you, compare Fiverr Pro social media managers .

How do you read a social media management gig before ordering?

Turn the package table into posts per month per platform and the rest falls into place. Then check these.

  • Platforms. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Pinterest. A package priced “per platform” doubles fast.
  • Content creation. Are graphics custom or from templates? Are captions written or supplied by you? Is video included?
  • Posting. Scheduling in Meta Business Suite or a third-party tool, and whether you approve a calendar first.
  • Engagement. Replies to comments and DMs, and on which days. This is often the most valuable and least listed part.
  • Reporting. Which metrics, how often and in what format.
  • Subscription terms. 62% of the gigs offered a subscription. Our subscriptions guide explains how recurring orders work.

Scroll the gig gallery and look at the captions, not just the graphics. Generic captions with 30 hashtags are a sign the seller writes the same post for everyone.

What should you put in a social media brief?

Send this before ordering and attach your brand files. The brief writing guide has more on structure.

  • Business name, what you sell and who buys it
  • Platforms, with links to the accounts
  • Goal for the next 90 days: enquiries, store visits, bookings, sales, awareness
  • Posts per week per platform you want
  • Content pillars: 3-4 topics you are happy to post about
  • Brand kit: logo, colors, fonts, photo library or product shots
  • Voice: three past posts or competitor posts you like
  • Engagement rules: what they can reply to, what goes to you, reply time
  • Approval process: calendar sent by which day each week
  • Access method: Meta partner access or a scheduling tool seat, set up after ordering
  • Report metrics and date

For access, Meta’s Business Help Center describes giving a partner access to assets in your business portfolio, so the freelancer works through their own login instead of yours.

What are the red flags when hiring a social media manager?

Look out for these before you subscribe.

  • Guaranteed follower numbers. Followers can be bought. Bought followers do not buy from you.
  • Asks for your Facebook or Instagram password. Use partner access or a tool seat, after the order is placed. Fiverr says it will never ask for your login details, and a seller should not either.
  • Same template look across every portfolio client. Your feed will look like theirs.
  • No mention of approval. You should see posts before they go live, at least in month one.
  • Moves you to WhatsApp before ordering. Fiverr allows third-party tools only after an order is placed, and off-platform deals are not protected.
  • Unedited AI captions. Fiverr’s guidelines say generic, unmodified AI output does not meet its quality standards. State in the brief if you want no AI.

Frequently asked questions

How many posts should I expect for the money?
It varies a lot, which is why the package table matters more than the price. Divide the price by the number of posts and platforms to compare gigs fairly, and check whether stories, reels and replies count as posts.
Does a social media manager create the content or just post it?
Both exist. Some packages design graphics and write captions; others schedule content you supply. Video is usually separate. Check for the words 'content creation', 'graphics' and 'captions' in the package.
Should they reply to comments and messages?
Only if the package says 'community management' or 'engagement', and only with rules from you. Write down what they can answer, what goes to you and how fast replies should happen.
How do I know it is working?
Agree on a monthly report before the first order: reach, engagement, profile visits, link clicks and any leads or sales you can trace. Follower count alone is the easiest number to fake and the least useful.
